Oualidia is a truly unique holiday destination located in most unusual surrounds. The resort is based around the southern shores of an 11 kilometre lagoon inset from the Atlantic Ocean, and is bordered by green pastures and saltwater mudflats. It was Morocco's first royal beach, Mohamed V having built a palace opposite the lagoon entrance.

Visitors to Oualidia most often remember the amazing scenic changes brought about by the tides and changing quality of the famous Moroccan light, which has inspired so many artists.

Very fine, pinkish sands and calm waters make Oualidia's lagoon shores perfect for windsurfing, boating, swimming and bathing.

One of the richest and most important habitats for birdlife in Morocco, Oualidia is home to flamingos, storks, warblers, egrets and many more - attracting bird-loving visitors from afar. It's also a renowned as an ideal habitat for oysters, a fresh supply of which are readily available in local restaurants.

Oualidia features a small and picturesque fishing harbour and a colourful market, but the pace overall is leisurely - an enchanting, romantic choice of resort for a holiday.
