Diving in Taba & Taba Heights

- The coastal waters around Taba have been granted Marine Park status.

- Taba & Taba Heights offer access to several stunning dive sites.

- There are plenty of opportunities here for the casual diver, photographers and those with an interest in taking a more detailed look at the reef on sheltered and shallow dives. It is not a place where you will find spectacular walls or enormous reefs, but due to the relatively untouched areas the coral is in first class condition.

Diving Highlights

The Aquarium

A drift dive dropping onto a shallow, gently sloping coral garden. At 11m there is a small glassfish pinnacle. This site holds an impressive variety of fish life, including a resident Frogfish.

Maxwell's Reef

A seamount starting at 12m, dropping off to around 60m. There are huge table corals at around 20 - 30m and a good chance of seeing Batfish, Red-toothed Triggerfish and millions of Anthias swarming around the coral heads.

Marsa El Muqabila

This site makes an ideal first dive for new arrivals to Taba, with a good range of fish, calm waters and few currents. A resident school of yellow-tailed barracuda can often be seen patrolling the reef ledge, and giant puffers, blue spotted rays and turtles are regular visitors. To the south east of the mooring a deep sinkhole awaits experienced divers.

Angel Net

Consisting of two main coral reefs with a 10m grassy strip between, this is a spectacular site taking its name from the remains of a tangled fishing net, now home to a great variety of marine life. A large 14m pinnacle attracts lots of pink alcyonarians and scalefin anthias, amongst others.
